Made for the Touhou Fan Game Jam 12 - Bird

HEAD IS EMPTY. NUKES ARE READY. GENSOKYO IS FULL.

Okuu (Utsuho Reiuji) finds herself lost in youkai mountain, with no clue how she got there, or what she was doing minutes prior. Turns out, she is right in the middle of tengu territory, where she receives an unpleasant welcome! Thankfully, Koishi Komeiji, Okuu's master arrives! But she also has no clue what she's doing. Thus, Okuu pointed her weapon forward... And fired.

Okuu must take out waves of crow Tengu as fast as possible. She can only heal at checkpoints, so watch her health, keep moving and take out all the enemies to survive. Time your shot at the moment of reaching full charge to unleash a much more devastating explosion! Final score will be based on your combo.

Controls

  • WASD - Movement
  • Spacebar - Jump (Can jump midair with stamina)
  • Left Click - Fire weapon (Hold for charged explosive shot)
  • R - Restart at previous checkpoint after failing
  • Shift - Dash
  • 1 - Toggle Mouse Cursor Lock

Game was developed using Godot 4.2 engine.

All 2D graphics were made by me.

Almost all 3D models were made by me using Blender 4.0.

Music is originally from Touhou Project, remixed by me using Reaper DAW and Touhou soundfont.

Font is VCR OSD Mono by mrmanet/Riciery Leal. Yes, this is the ultrakill font: VCR OSD Mono Font | dafont.com

Sounds with creative commons liscenses are taken and used from freesound.org.  Here's a list of links to each one I used:

I don't really know whether it's allowed since it isn't specified but I did end up downloading, modifying and using the Ultrakill laughing skull sound effect from myinstants website.
